Following Jesus IV Sunday May 31 2020

Pastor James Corrales preaches to us: Following Jesus IV. The victory of the Church is secured by following Jesus. We have reflected on how to know if we follow the Lord, if we follow Him correctly, as well as how to disciple other followers. The Lord always comes at the exact time, at the right time. What makes the difference between what the world considers victorious and what is a victorious church? Jesus is victorious and therefore we are also victorious, because our focus is Him. Point 1: Victory is in prayer, if you don’t do it you will live in frustration because it is the way of asking God, and He listens to us, like his children. When you don’t know what to do, when you recognize your limitations, you pray and cry out to God, you communicate with God, and you enter victory. Someone who is in constant communication with God recognizes himself in their behavior, in their speech, and in the peace they transmit. Point 2: Victory is in humility. Do not forget where the Lord rescued you from, remain humble and submissive because God resists the proud. The presence of the Lord makes the earth tremble, and therefore you must feel something when you humble yourself before the Lord. Kneel before the mighty hand of God and when it is time He will exalt you. God does not despise the contrite and humble heart. The Lord is an expert in exalting and he wants to help if you humble yourself before Him, leaving aside your pride. Point 3: Victory is in holiness. Be holy in your way of living. There are things that prevent the moving of the Holy Spirit, hidden sins that are not revealed. You must try to obey God, genuinely repent before Him, and be transparent and consecrated before the Lord; this moves God. Try to live in peace with all people is what the Lord asks from us and live in holiness. It’s a necessity, it’s a way of living. Consecrate not only your heart and mind, but your body and all of your possessions. Point 4: The victory is in the investiture of the Holy Spirit. This is to remember that he commanded us to put his precepts to work through his Spirit, because it is not by our own abilities, but by the power that he gives us. Remember, Jesus Christ is the only one who can baptize in the Holy Spirit. Hence the importance of being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is for all of us, all who have been called by the Lord, to receive power and to speak about Him in the farthest places, when the Spirit has arrived and when the Spirit has filled you and acts on you, and acts in you. And there is the presence of God.
