Following Jesus II Sunday May 10, 2020

Pastor James Corrales teaches us: Following Jesus II. I serve God. Am I following Jesus correctly? How great it is to say and also to be, not only to say, but also to do. Following Jesus correctly is following him for the right reasons. Not for convenience, as when Jesus saw the intentions of the people who were looking for him, not for the signs he had given, but for the bread that had satisfied them when he multiplied the loaves and the fish. Intentions may be good, but the reason is not appropriate. Many seek blessing, but not the God of the blessing. Nor is it following him because he makes us feel important or because we have nothing else to do. God does not call the unoccupied, it can be seen in the Bible that in all cases the called were busy people doing something, grazing sheep, working on something, a job, staying busy and active. This is how we should be, active, busy, delighting in his word. Or maybe you still think it’s an obligation. We do not serve the Lord thinking it is an obligation. The Christian who follows the Lord is blessed, victorious, and successful in everything, but Jesus Christ did not die on the cross for your finances, but for your salvation. The blessing brings more benefits, which is something different. But the priority is not that you think that you will do well if you follow him, but that you must be faithful to him and as a result the Lord cares for his children and you will not lack anything.
